Precinct Election Officials

You may be asking yourself what does a Precinct Election Official (PEO) do or how can I become a PEO?  Below you will find a brief insight of what a PEO in responsible for during an election.

Elections are at the core of our system of government.  Seeing to it that everyone's right to vote is protected and that we as people are protected against voter fraud.  It is not a responsibility to be taken lightly.

Election board officials are paid and must be registered voters of Buchanan County.  You would need to attend mandatory training and your attendance must be dependable and work well with others.  The work is pleasant and very rewarding.

The duties you would be responsible for are setting up equipment, determining the eligibility of voters, assisting the voters with the voting equipment, and completing the necessary paperwork at the end of the night when the polls close.
